In September, Show Me Shoes celebrated its tenth anniversary.
Although I haven’t been with them for that same amount of time, the past four months have been great. I joined the Show Me Shoes Foundation for their drive to help young girls like me achieve their goals.
It feels incredible to be apart of an organization who built their foundation on teaching young girls to hold their head high. It is even more amazing to see volunteers live by their standards!
I remember when I first joined Show Me Shoes, I was confused. I didn’t know what I wanted out of life or what I enjoyed doing, but after two meetings and an exciting field trip, I became confident.
Now I am in school, majoring in Communications in hopes of becoming a Brand Strategist. If it weren’t for the Show Me Shoes Foundation and its volunteers, I probably would be uncertain of what I wanted to do.
I am proud to be a part of Show Me Shoes!
They are sure to welcome me and others for many more years to come because they embody what empowerment truly means.
